Smilebox So. Cal. Family

 This segment is all about our So. Cal. family and the wonderful time we had visiting with them.  I'd like to thank everyone for putting up with me taking all the pictures....they seem to understand they have to last me until the next visit!  

This is Danny Warren Johnson, born after we were there.  He's GREAT GRAND #6!!!  Just wanted to introduce him now.  There will be lots more pictures when we get to see him firsthand in Sept..

Smilebox of Yosemite

The road to Yosemite was so drastically different from the roads we'd been on for almost a month and a half.  Beautiful farm country, wide open spaces and then a really winding road leading up to Yosemite.  It was sad to see all the burned trees from the fire last year.  Makes you really appreciate the lushness at the valley floor.

Smilebox Northern CA, Redwoods and Wine Country

Once we hit the Northern Calif. coast we felt like we were on the home stretch.  Like so many times on this trip we just continued to be amazed at the changes in the landscape as we went from north to south. The northern coast was beautiful, but the Redwoods were absolutely majestic.  As we wandered through the forests we found ourselves whispering, almost like being in a church.  They truly were amazing to see and imagine the stories they could tell if they could talk.  So old and elegant and HUGE!  The wine country was beautiful and we're glad we took the time to do a tour.  We had a lot of miles to cover so didn't think it wise to spend too much time drinking, but a sip or two didn't hurt.   Lots of interesting history int he old wineries.
