Sedona

The road to Laughlin and London Bridge

We headed out from Jon and Sara's on Wed. after provisioning Barefoot and reorganizing everything.   Got to love that NEX and Commissary on base!

Saying good bye to 3 or the 6 GREAT's that made our stay in So. CA so wonderful!

Made it to Needles the first night and stayed at a very nice RV park called Dessert View.  Host's were very friendly and welcoming and the site was lined with Oleander bushes and trees so very private and cool, despite the hot, hot temps.  We got an early start the next morning and made it to Laughlin in time for a jet boat tour ride to Havasu and the London Bridge and back.  GREAT way to see both areas and spend some time on the river.  Again, despite the heat, it was refreshing on the water.  It's a two hour trip each way, plus two hours in Havasu to wander the shops.  Unfortunately by the end of the day Cathy started feeling sick and has developed  a  nasty cold.  We spent the night in Kingman and the following morning went to the Emergency room for antibiotics and a steroid shot.   We drove to Williams, AZ where we spent the night and toured historic Williams the next day.

Off to Sedona on Sat. and some incredible countryside.  Amazing how the landscape goes from rolling hills to dramatic red rock formation in the blink of an eye.  We wandered around town and took some great photos of the area.  On Sunday we drove to Tuscon and spent a great deal of money stocking up on cold meds before camping at the KOA, Lazy Days, Tuscon.  The cold seems to be getting worse so decided to stay another day and just relax in Tuscon before moving on Tues.  We are very close to Seguaro National Park and as we drove to Tuscon we got a sampling of how beautiful the desert cactus is and what a unique landscape it offers.  Hope to see a little more before we head off.

Off and running for the remainder of our journey

We returned to So. Cal. on 9/9.  Priscilla and the boys picked us up at the airport and we all went to lunch and had a nice visit.  They loaned us one of their cars for the week which was so great and made things so much simpler for us to get around.  We stayed the first two days with Norman and MB.  It was wonderful to have two days to visit, relax and just catch up.  On Wed. we went over to Elissa and Bobby's to meet baby Cole and see their new kitchen.  What a beautiful little boy they have and he's so content and happy.   They are doing a wonderful job on their home, Cole's room is adorable and the new kitchen is amazing.
