Oh my, what a delightful day! We had Juli and Jordan over for pancake breakfast.....super way to start the day! They drove in to the park and we spent about 4 hours touring together. Sadly, they need to get to work so they had to move along, but not until we had shared a few snacks and a few hugs until Memorial weekend in Yellowstone. There is nothing that really fits the description of the Grand Canyon other than AWESOME! It was far more then we were expecting, that is for sure. At every turn you were amazed at the magnificence of what you were viewing. Again, this is THE time of year to be here. Really not crowded at all and the weather was perfect. One thing Fred and I realized is that if it weren't for International travelers there would be almost no one here! Where we stayed just outside the park was perfect. You would not want to come here and miss the IMAX theater, and the park is only 2 miles up the road with a FREE shuttle to the visitors center and then FREE shuttles to every view point in the park. Although Jordan had no problem parking in the RV space, it was only because of the time of year. I am sure in summer you would fight for space to park in the parking lots. So.... Stay here and tram your way around!
We will keep our eyes peeled for elk again tonight. I really need a picture to go with the 500 pictures I've taken so far! Unfortunately wireless service here is limited so can't upload pictures from the last couple of days until we get somewhere where I can. Don't worry, I won't upload them all!
Temps are cooling down tonight. We are both exhausted and tired of waking up at 5:00 am! It's so light here then, but we have dark curtains, it's just all the time changes I guess. Tomorrow we will be at Bryce or Zion and time changes again.
So far, except for the brakes, this had been an incredible journey!
