Still on schedule. We spent a day in Natchez, but was a little disappointed how few businesses were operating in town. The good news is we walked over 10,000 steps! Of course I was lamenting I hadn't gotten those knee shots before we left, but we did do some serious walking. We spent the night at the Natchez State Park, really pretty area, private and overlooking a lake.
We drove the Natchez Trace to Vicksburg. It was really pretty and full of history. Stopping at the Grand Gulf Military Museum we were amazed to know that in 2011 the museum had actually flooded when the Mississippi rose to a record high. Standing next to the marker with the motor home below it was spooky to see.
We'll be staying in Vicksburg for two nights so we rented a car today and toured the downtown historic area. Really a cool town. Tomorrow we'll tour the Vicksburg National Military Park and cemetery and have our first night out for dinner at the Casino that's just across the road.
