We are in the Grand Teton's staying at Colter Bay right in the Grand Teton National Park. The weather is incredible. Probably in the high 70's and absolutely wonderful for being outside and biking and walking around. There's still lots of patches of snow on the ground and the mountains are covered. They look so beautiful! The campground is not full, which is very surprising, but again....we are "ahead of season" so guess that's why. Nice not to have to stand in line for anything and everyone working here has time to chat with you. In fact, we were talking with a young man down at the marina and turns out...he just finished up working at South Seas on Captiva. Talk about a small world! He's the one that took this picture of Fred and I.

We arrived in Yellowstone this morning and will be here about a week. Have
decided to rent a car for at least a couple of the days so we can set up camp
and leave it that way. We were considering taking a trip back down to Jackson
Hole by car because we pretty much had to zip through there to get to Colter
Bay at a reasonable time. However, there's so much to see here we probably wont
back track.
We took scenic route 89 which is THE way to go, but slow because there's so
much to see along the way. It seemed to take forever to get to Colter Bay the
other day. When we figured Fred has driven over 3,700 miles so far it's no
wonder we're slowing down a bit. Time to relax and enjoy at a more leisurely
pace now.
This trip has been absolutely amazing so far. We keep looking at each other and
saying "can you believe we're here?" There's so much to see and do and although
we've done everything we wanted to do, we think you could easily spend a lot
more time in almost every place we've been so far and see and enjoy a lot more.
In Utah alone you could be there a month and not get bored or probably see the
same things twice. We think the ideal thing would be to pick a central town
(like Kanab for one) and then do day trips in all the different directions. We
both agree we still don't want to tow a car, but renting for a week would be a
great way to go. Then move on a little further north and do it all over again.
We're really happy with the size we are. We see these huge motor homes coming
in, towing a car, and just think it's overkill. We have everything we need and
want in Barefoot.
Looking forward to our time in Yellowstone and having some time with Juli
and Jordan. They'll be working most of the week, but we'll do our best to hook up
either before or after work when they can. We have a car rented starting
tomorrow so Juli is going to show us around and Jordan will hook up with us
after work for dinner.
